I spent this week doing more math practice in order to prepare for the last portion of the actual SAT. I have also been doing a lot more reading practice to get ready to actually take the SAT. Although, I do think that reading is definitely my strong suit when taking the test, which I did not expect. English is not typically my strength in school, but it seems as if I always do better when doing reading practice as opposed to math practice.

This week, I worked on math practice in order to prepare for the last portion of the test. I am hoping that this will increase my score on the calculator active part. I also need to start another full test for this month. I am wanting to sit down and dedicate a full 3 hours for the test instead of working on it in parts. I think that my method of splitting the test up has decreased my score because I am focusing less. I have also been working while distracted which I think has heavily impacted my score. Also, I need to start registering for the actual SAT in May.
This week, I focused on the calculator inactive part of the full test. This section took 25 minutes. I found that many of the concepts on the test were some that I had already encountered in math classes, such as systems of equations and trigonometry. There were also some concepts that I struggled on, mainly because I hadn't had to do those types of problems in a while. I hope to finish the rest of the full test this upcoming week and get my super score. I do not think this score will really be reflective of my abilities because I have not been taking these tests as seriously as I should have been.
This week, I have completed the writing portion of the full-length SAT. I did not have enough time to finish this section, so my score was relatively low. I hope the low score will be balanced out by my high score on the reading portion and it will not adversely affect my overall super score. If I do not improve from my initial score, I will not be too discouraged since I did not fully dedicate myself to replicating a testing environment and I could have put in more effort. This week, I hope to begin the math portions of the test.
This week, I did not complete my goal of working on the full-length SAT. Instead, I practiced more math problems and did some writing passages in order to prepare for the math and grammar portions of the test. I am hoping to completely finish the test this week since it is spring break and I will have extra time to dedicate to sitting down and working on the test for a longer period of time.
This week, I started working on a full-length SAT. They have it set up to where you do not have to take it all in one sitting, so I focused on the reading portion. I completed a 65 minute long portion that had 52 reading comprehension questions. I had actually encountered all of the reading passages that were given freshman year in Ms. Dunn's class. She had us read all of those passages and answer comprehension questions on them, so I had quite an advantage when answering the questions. Out of 52, I got 44 questions right and 8 questions wrong. This upcoming week, I will focus on hopefully completing the entire test or at least finishing through one of the math sections.
This week, I will be preparing for the first full-length practice test. I will take the test on Saturday, and it will hopefully give me some statistics to show me what I need to improve on. I am hoping that the score will be higher than my initial score, as I did not study before my first test, so I should have some improvement since I have started studying. I have proven to have significant improvements on the English practice that I have done so far.
This week, I have made progress in returning to my previously planned schedule and practicing more often. I reached the first goal set for me by Khan Academy, which was to complete 100 questions. I reached this goal by completing the assigned practice 4/7 of the days this week. The three days I missed were weekend days where I was busier than usual. Next week, I hope to practice on more of a regular schedule and get more work done.
Genius Hour started this Wednesday, and I have already gotten behind. My goal is to practice 30 minutes daily or answer 20 questions. On Wednesday I completed 5 questions, and on Friday I completed 11 questions. Today, I spent 30 minutes practicing and I completed 38 questions, in an attempt to make up for time lost. I have discovered that sticking to this schedule may be harder than I had anticipated. When creating my practice schedule, it was recommended that I practice 15 minutes on Monday - Friday. I opted to practice 30 minutes every day, which was their 'hardcore' option. I am still planning on sticking to this regimen, but I may have underestimated the intensity of the practice sessions. Today, I focused on reading and writing. I quickly discovered that I am a lot better at the writing and grammar section than the reading comprehension. This week, I hope to work more on reading comprehension (specifically literature) and get back on track.
